Based on recipes of yesteryear, Brabant Beers are a tribute to the exceptional heritage that made the Golden Age of brewers.

Geneviève de Brabant

Introduction Introduction Introduction Introduction Introduction Introduction Introduction Introduction Introduction Introduction Introduction

The Geneviève de Brabant beer celebrates the richness of Brabant forests, a land of legends known for its exceptionally pure water.

In the 16th century, the festival, at the heart of social life, was fair compensation for daily harshness and precariousness.

Everything was a pretext for celebration: births, donations of holy bread, the end of harvest, etc. Villagers would feast in the streets or taverns, veritable meeting places where all rumours were born.

Beer was for all celebrations: winter games, carnivals, processions, etc. Numerous beers appeared, and each village proudly had its own brewery!

In Genval, the story of Geneviève of Brabant, abandoned in the woods with her child and rescued by a doe, created a stir. This heroine from the Middle Ages soon gave her name to traditional beers: blonde, brown, white and red. Based on these recipes of yesteryear, Brabant Beers are a tribute to this exceptional heritage that made the Golden Age of brewers.

FEATURE: Shy Bird on BP&O
